Its really easy don’t drive!  This is about the only way you will prevent love bugs from getting stuck to your car in Gainesville, Florida.  We have a really bad love bug problem and the season is now upon us.  The love bug has two seasons that they are really bad.  The end of August and September is when they begin to populate the area alot.  The best thing to do is to have your car washed at least once a week if you are tend to get love bug buildup.  If you do not drive your car that often then getting it washed once every two weeks should be fine as well.  Lovebugs are known to accumulate on the hood, windsheild and radiator grills of cars.  Some other places they fall victim are the side mirrors and even roofs of the vehicle.  Once a lovebug dies its body and acidic contents begin to dry and can do so within a few hours.  Once dried the lovebug is very hard to get off, more so than the average bug due to the acid levels in its body.  If left untreated for an extended period of time the acid will eventually eat through the clearcoat and leave little marks in the paint.  It will appear that there is still in fact a bug on your paint when in actuality there is a pock marked stain that cannot be fixed by detailing alone.  So if you need to get some lovebugs removed remember to call Gainesville Detailing to fix your problem.  If you cannot get to us in a couple weeks wash them off yourself so that you will not have any permanant paint damage.
